Who I Am and What I Do
First and foremost I am a regular mom, probably just like you. I have 4 kids and I am married to my high school sweetheart; we met at a high school in Abbotsford. I have a passion for treating mothers in all capacities, whether they are trying to become a mother, are pregnant, a new mom, or their kids are all grown up.
It is my personal journey navigating between conventional medicine and naturopathic medicine that has inspired me to help my patients, parents and families on their own unique journey. My story began with several miscarriages and not being sure where to turn for help and answers. It was hard to navigate the opinions of several different healthcare professionals and ultimately I had to advocate for myself to get the care I needed and wanted. It is my hope that I can help you make the best decisions for you and your health. I will collaborate with you and any of your trusted healthcare providers to help you make decisions about your personalized treatment plan. I want you to understand your options and I will utilize a realistic, natural and evidence-based healthcare approach.
I have a bachelor of science in biochemistry and a bachelor of fine arts (visual arts) both from UBC. I decided I wanted to be a naturopathic doctor when I was working at a naturopathic clinic as a receptionist after my degrees were completed. I went to naturopathic medical school at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM) in New West (I had my 2 oldest kids while I was in school and my younger 2 since graduating) and continued working in a naturopathic clinic all through my schooling.
